Willie Nelson

willienelsonWillie Hugh Nelson (born April 30, 1933) is an American country singer-songwriter, author, poet and actor.

He reached his greatest fame during the outlaw country movement of the 1970s, but remains iconic, especially in American popular culture. In recent years he has continued to tour, record, and perform, and this, combined with activities in advocacy of marijuana. America’s best-known advocate for legalizing marijuana. As a member of NORML’s Board of Advisors and a 4 time High Times cover star, Willie Nelson definitely is a famous stoner.

A well-publicized arrest for marijuana possession in 2006 made him the subject of renewed media attention. After a traffic stop on a Louisiana highway, a search of his tour bus produced 1½ pounds of marijuana and slightly more than 3 ounces of magic mushrooms. Nelson pled guilty to the charges and received $1,024 in fines and six-months’ probation.

But, Best of all… Willie Nelson smoked pot on the White House roof while staying in Washington D.C. as the guest of then-U.S. President Jimmy Carter! How Cool!
